Newmarket Mills Yoga

I had the great pleasure of working with Newmarket Mills Yoga last month and I have to say – this is an extraordinary group of women.
Everyone was so lovely and kind and we had such a wonderful, relaxed time during our shoot.

If you are not familiar with the new Mills of Newmarket, you need to check out their site ASAP!
~ Adorable stores, delicious ice cream, a great restaurant, and an unbelievably beautiful yoga studio!
Check out their class schedule to see if there is something for you!
(Abbie and I can’t wait to check out the beginner’s class one day in the very near future!)

To all of you lovely ladies from Mill Yoga ~ thank you SO much! You were so wonderful to work with and I enjoyed myself immensely.
Even if I had never been interested in yoga before – you all would have convinced me ;]

Each of you has such beauty and strength and it is just so inspiring! It was a joy/privilege to document that in each of you.

Looking forward to seeing you again in the future!

Skincare by Val ~

A few weekends ago I had the opportunity to photograph Valerie of Skincare by Val in Dover.
I met Val through Cyndi when she did the makeup for Cyndi and her bridesmaids. She did SUCH an amazing job and she is just the sweetest person. She was so thoughtful and professional while remaining a calming presence throughout the entire – usually stressful – getting ready process :]
I absolutely adored working with her, and I truly wish I had known her in 2008 when I tied the knot – I would have LOVED having Val there on my weeding day. And um, how fabulous would it be to take your bridesmaids for a calming facial before the big day (hint hint future brides)?!

When Abbie and I photographed Val (she works out of Timeless Salon and Spa), she did a facial (which I’m not going to lie, looked like the most relaxing and wonderful thing in existence!) and also two different makeup applications.
It was great getting to watch Val work and document the process for her. If after looking at these photos you start daydreaming of a facial (or another type of beauty service – just look at all she has to offer!), not to worry, you can book an appointment with Val here. You can also check out her Facebook page here.

Val helps with all kinds of skincare needs – from facials and waxing to makeup application and products – she’s got you covered!

Also, if you are currently unemployed and want Val to do your makeup for a job interview, she will do so completely complimentary. Seriously, we need more people like this!

Val, you are wonderful! Keep up the amazing work… you are making people feel SO beautiful and you deserve a gold medal for that. Also, I’m coming to see you soon for MY facial! ;]

xo!

I met Ellen Braley last week. She is a phenomenal local artist in Greenland, NH.

She specializes in all things calligraphy and watercolors and let me just tell you – I checked out her work and was blown. away.

Seriously – if you are a bride – do yourself a favor and look in to her work for custom invitations, save the date cards, and even watercolor maps to help guide guests to the wedding! Absolutely unbelievable.

Check out her Facebook and Website for more information :]

Here are some of my favorites:

Multi-tasking and my life in Instagrams.

I’ve never been good at multi-tasking.

I have these hazy, early memories of being young and trying to clean my room while listening to a cassette on my brother’s huge black boom box. Yes. It was the early 90’s. I think boom box is the correct term.

Anyways – even back then I can remember being easily distracted by the lyrics or the rhythm of a song and finding myself not cleaning – but just sitting on my floor, surrounded by a mess, singing along to every word I could remember.

The memory ends there but sadly, not a whole lot has changed.

I still get distracted when I try to clean my room (luckily for me, when you’re an adult you don’t have to clean your room… and there’s always the option of paying someone to do it for you… right?)

And guess what?

My husband thinks it’s funny that I can’t edit photos and talk on the phone…

or paint my nails and watch a TV show.

What can I say? I like to focus every last bit of my attention on one thing at a time.

The truth is though, the biggest area that I struggle multi-tasking in is that fine line between my business and personal life.

There are days when all I want to do is blog about my day, my feelings, a random thought or idea, etc.

I’ve been torn about the pros and cons of mixing a personal blog with your business one but you know what?

At the end of the day, I only have time to be genuine with one audience ;]

So I have decided to try {really} extra hard to not worry so much about mixing the business and the personal.

2011 is a year for all things new and starting now –  I will be better about posting more regularly (I promise!) and I’m going to stop worrying about talking about my husband or dogs too much ;]

This is me. This is my life, my job, my passion, and my outlet.

I hope that you will see a little more of my heart in each paragraph and with each photograph.

So for now, this is my life and some of my favorite things as of lately (thanks again to Instagram, what would I ever do without you?)

First of all – I live in New England again and HOW DID I FORGET HOW COLD IT IS HERE?!

I seriously feel like I live in a giant snow globe and there is no. way. out.

But I only sometimes feel that way. Other times, I think it’s lovely.

Okay. As a photographer, I’ve realized the amount of personal photos I take is sad. 2011 is going to have to change in that area because I do not want to be one of those people that simply captures beautiful moments for other people. Enter Fujifilm’s Instax Camera – the best little thing that ever happened to me. I pop this cutie in my bag fairly regularly (or grab it off my shelf when my furry children do something outlandishly adorable) and am always amazed how perfect the outcome is – a tad retro. 100% awesome.

John gave this to me last Valentine’s Day and he’s still getting points for it :]

Speaking of my furry children…. I’ve got to get some new subjects to move in to my house so that I don’t become that crazy cat lady. Oh wait – am I already there?

By the way, this is Teppei.
He thinks he’s a dog and his favorite foods include French fries, chicken nuggets, and cheesecake.
You think I’m joking.

Just to prove that I do get out of the house on occasion –

Look at this rug I spotted at one of my favorite places, TJ Maxx.

I love everything about it and am trying to think of a legitimate reason as to why I need it. Possibly for this Valentine’s day ;]

 {I’m going to try to blog photos of my home one of these days… Mostly just so that I can show off my house full of amazing thrift store finds!}

And I couldn’t talk about my favorite things and my life lately without mentioning Aubrey, my best friend. This is an older photo (seeing as how we currently have about a thousand miles between us) but she’s another one on my “to blog” list.
My house is filled with her creations and she’s one of the most talented artists you’ll ever meet. Email her and ask her to paint something for you. I’m sure if you tell her I sent you, she’ll give you a deal.

I miss you, other half. Come visit me soon so that we can have a million photo shoots.

Oh, and I know I’ve already talked about John…. But let’s just mention him again so that I can talk about how I’m the luckiest girl in the world to be married to my best friend.
And so good looking, too?! ;]

that’s all for now, kids :]
