We met up with Josh and Katie on the most gorgeous fall day.
The sun was amazing and we met up in downtown Portsmouth which always offers such an array of awesome shooting locations.
Josh and Katie were expecting their first baby and decided to wait until he/she was born to find out the gender –
How awesome of a surprise that must be!
They wanted to document this precious time in their lives before they became a family of three.
Katie was absolutely glowing and Josh was all smiles.
To top it off – they are both so photogenic which made my job so easy!
A couple of months later the beautiful Madilyn made her appearance!
What an adorable, precious, smiley little girl.
Obviously just as photogenic as her parents ~
(seriously – I’ve never seen such a well behaved newborn! She was perfect!)
Josh and Katie, I can’t even tell you how happy I am for your precious little family of three.
You guys are the best and I’m already so excited about Madilyn’s one year portraits ;]
Fall certainly feels like a long time ago, doesn’t it?! I mean, I guess it was!
This past fall I offered family mini sessions at Wagon Hill in Durham…
Which seemed like an especially good time with Christmas card season right around the corner!
I am always amazed at how lucky I am to get to do something I love so much for a living.
I wish everyone could understand the immense importance of regular documentation of your family or loved ones –
Exactly as you are… wild and happy kids, sneaking kisses amongst the chaos, little ones that still want to hold hands…
The list goes on.
Time goes by so fast and so often I look around me and wonder how it’s possible that
kiddos grow up, people move on, and so often we are left with only fuzzy memories days passed.
The investment of family photographs is so small in comparison to the years and years ahead of you
in which you will look back on these days that felt oh-so-long and you will wish for a little piece of that to return to you…
even if only for a moment.
Photographs become tangible memories that last forever… Well in to future generations.
There are still days that my siblings and I look through our bin of old family photos and are so thankful that our parents were so great about documenting our childhoods.
What a gift!
I have honestly never worked with a couple or family who has told me they wished they had waited on photos…
I have only ever heard “I truly wish we made this happen more often”.
If you are in need of updated photos, please contact me!
I offer lifestyle sessions in your home as well as being able to recommend beautiful local places where we can go and capture you just as you are.
I will offer mini sessions again next fall – so be on the lookout for those.
Thank you so much to these beautiful people that gave me the opportunity to capture them so perfectly.
Lots of love ~
Dan and Caroline are seriously two of my favorite people (although now closely tied with Caleb and Lyla) ;]
They are just so sweet, hilarious, genuine, and obviously good looking.
What more could you ask for from dear friends?!
I knew these two amazing people were bound to create some pretty-darn-amazing children.
And not to brag, but I was totally right.
These two babies are the best… sweet and snuggly and just way too adorable.
My favorite thing is how these two are literally best friends…
For instance, they hold hands on the reg (among other mind blowing adorableness)
(I mean, are you kidding me?!!?!)
I seriously had some major baby fever after this shoot ;]
I am so thankful for this sweet family and what they’ve meant to us in the time that we’ve known them.
They are a family of kindred spirits and I am so excited for the years of photographs ahead
and watching these two beautiful little people grow in to the awesome people they are going to be
(and already are!)
How lucky am I that this is my job.
I’m also going to include a recent photo of this precious family at the end of this post so that
A. you can see how terribly awful I am about blogging within a reasonable amount of time and
B. so you can see how (somehow) these guys just get cuter and cuter every day!
It’s a scientific phenomena, I’m telling you ;]
Love all four of you to the moon and back!
